All this Instagram crap going on is on my nerves. Moms are getting their accounts suspended for having photos of naked kids in their feed. It states that naked photos, no matter how innocent, are against IG's policy. So now these moms are making it into something else, calling it censorship. They are saying IG is against breastfeeding photos and postpartum bodies. That is the biggest whatever. The only photos removed are photos of naked kids. If you look through all their feeds, their photos of breastfeeding and showing off their real postpartum bellies are all still there. It's only the naked kid photos that are gone.
Instagram is a free app, right? Nobody pays to use it. Yet, these moms are demanding they change their policy and stop censoring motherhood. Let's stop right there, it's not about motherhood. Posting naked photos of your young children has nothing to do with motherhood. Now breastfeeding does, and guess what? IG doesn't censor those photos. There's even a petition that over 3000 people have signed. Do they really think that is going to work? IG owes us nothing, and no way should they change their policy so mothers can post naked photos of their kids. That policy is to protect not only themselves from lawsuits, but to protect the children from pedophiles. I know as moms we see cute and innocent and pure but it's not just moms looking at these photos. If you really want to post naked pics of your kids make your IG account private. That way only those you want to see can and nobody will report your photos.
I can not wrap my head around this. All these hashtags and everyone is saying breastfeeding is normal and should not be censored...IT'S NOT BEING CENSORED! Just look around, plenty of breastfeeding photos to go around, a lot less naked kid photos. <--- I think I've said that twice now!

So I beg of you, if you are going to fight for something be truthful about what you are fighting for. Don't cover it up with false information. If you want to post naked photos of your kids on IG then start a hashtag #letthenakedkidpicsflyfree or something just as stupid. IG is not censoring motherhood, they are censoring photos of naked kids. Which isn't a bad thing, in my opinion.
I also understand that IG has communities that feel like best friends, even family. I get wanting to share every aspect of your life with these people. We must remember that IG is the internet, social media, and if your account isn't private, anyone can look at it, gawk at it. It's a big world out there that doesn't stop with the mamas, unfortunately.

Lets fight fair and truthful. I believe their are two different causes going on right now and it makes it that much more frustrating.
