This article made me all edgy!
It's about Free the Nipple Movement. These women want gender equality, not for the same pay or same benefits as a man but to walk around without a shirt on. They wrote
"Why can’t girls be topless? If you really think about it, what’s the difference between a man’s nipples and a woman’s? Is it really just the extra breast tissue?"Stop right there, it's more than just tissue. Boobs are sexual, I know not everyone wants to think that because they are also for feeding babies but like it or not they are sexual, a mans nipple isn't sexual, it's totally different. Comparing the two are like apples and pears. Imagine walking around with your teen sons and all these women didn't have a shirt on? Could you imagine the awkwardness of it all. Then they said
"Is it the fact that women’s nipples are paired with a vagina? Is it the presence of a real and true female nipple bare to the world that is so offensive, that is so horrid that it must be kept covered?
Offensive? NO! I see it as more of disrespecting yourself. It's about having respect for your own body. Kind of like how men keep their dicks covered. My children don't want to see your boobs any more than they want to see some man's dick. If you really want to bare it all go find a freaking nudist colony.
Next quote
"Who is this law protecting and what are they protecting them from? What message does it send to young women about their bodies? That they should be ashamed and keep them covered?"We are protecting young girls. We are teaching them their breast are a private matter and not for every Tom, Dick and Harry to stare at. Just as we teach our girls about their private areas, their breasts are included because nobody should be touching them or asking to see them. So let's confuse them and put them on display in the sno cone line?? That makes sense! If another man is staring at your young daughter's breast, that is okay for you? You know because somehow that defines if she's equal to her brother. These women are freaking idiots.
This is coming from someone who is not a prude, I'm very open minded but I think this is just stupid. Lets free the nipples because why? What is the point? Do you walk around your house without a shirt on? Would you answer your door for girl scouts without a shirt on? Would you run to the super market to get a gallon of milk without your shirt on? You wouldn't, so can we focus our energy on more important matters than letting your boobs hang out? How about teaching young girls how to defend themselves in case of rape, not make it easier for the rapist. Or educate them on self awareness and respect.
I have a teen daughter, she's almost 18. I couldn't imagine her wanting to go topless, nor myself however. It's not about equality, and the fact that these women are trying to make it about that angers me. Angers me for all the girls out there that this is going to confuse. I'm angry that grown women don't see the disrespect they are putting towards women by saying our nipples are just like a mans but with more tissue. Our breast are so much more than that and deserve to be respected and not flashed around for the world to stare at. And really, is it really that awful that you have to wear a bikini top? Really? Is it awful that we teach young girls to cover up, that a little modesty is a good thing?
Also the ridiculous bikini top they are selling is beyond stupid, you look like an idiot wearing it. From afar it looks like you dropped some cherry slurpee on each boob. And as you get closer it looks a very poor airbrush job, just sayin'. You don't look topless at all, you look like you paid too much for a bikini top, you failed.
