We decided to go a different route home from Elk Horn, this took us through Crystal Park.
It was so cool, millions of tiny crystals. People bring shovels and dig and dig, creating crater size holes in the ground.
I found several just from looking down at my feet, it amazed me. The kids found a small geode and a few small crystals. They had so much fun. We hadn't planned on stopping but I am so glad we did. It's somewhere I could spend hours exploring.
It's beautiful and the view from the top is breathtaking.
There's something to be said about being above the trees. It's so peaceful, surreal. This world is full of ugly and sorrow and pain, being in nature seems to melt all the ugliness away. Nature takes your sorrow and throws it off the cliff, nature makes your pain dissipate.....if only for awhile. That little bit of time refreshes you, gives you the energy to keep fighting.
